Not a Christmas Email

Good Morning! Well, it's been a minute, and a lot has happened. Prepping for Christmas was cool, I did get some presents but we had a super tiny tree. My companion and I also discovered the Prophets Christmas message about lighting the world with love, so we shared that for the past two weeks at every member lesson. We've killed it on numbers, and I've enjoyed every single person we've met. And we had a baptism! Raiden has been preparing for baptism, and had a date a few months ago, but it didn't really work out. I don't know why, I wasn't here yet. Well, Elder Koyle and I have been (gently) bugging him and they finally agreed to! We picked a day, which was yesterday, the 26th of December. And it went pretty well, we thought we had everything planned but we're only so smart, nothing major was messed up. Just make sure you know the words to the confirmation prayer, and DON'T unplug the font until after the confirmations/people leave. It sounded like a

Snow! The First Miracle

Good Morning! It finally snowed a couple inches on Wednesday, and got super cold. I've been relying on my jacket now, and it's about 20 degrees or so in the morning. It's warming up a bit, but I hear it's going to get colder soon.  We had Zone Conference this week, which just means our entire Zone gets together to have a meeting with the Mission President. There's a few companionships in a district, and a few districts in a zone. So it's like a Stake, for missionaries. It was a great experience, and I learned a lot. We had to drive all the way to Richfield and stay the night with another companionship, which was night. I learned all the mission gossip I could handle, which isn't a good habit but that's okay. They didn't spoil me, Elder Knight and Hardy were good guys.  Naturally, since this is in Richfield, and I'm so good at remembering things, I needed to face some good old karma. So now I don't have my bag, which has my journal/scriptures/

Sunsets, Signs, & Silence

Image
Good Morning! The scenery here is amazing. Obviously mountains on the East and West are a bit different, and the sun has graced us with a number of cool views. The moon was also pretty unique last night, you may have seen that in Texas (or elsewhere). I attached a bunch of pictures, I won't give them much explanation this week. A sunset is only so explainable.  One thing I've noticed is the number of cool signs everywhere. I photographed a few, those are included as well. Make your own opinions, but they're all just cool.  Now for silence. I won't talk a lot about direct experiences this week, but I have 4 cool stories for you, and I'll do my best to paraphrase in the 15 minutes I have to type it all out.  First, we had our meeting with the Mission President, President Kaluhiokalani. These meetings happen every six weeks (once every transfer), so when it was my turn I walked in and sat down. Now, normally I'd expect there to be a lot of talking back and forth, b
