A Friendly Reminder

Good Morning! I wish this week wasn't over yet, but it's already come and gone. Nevertheless, this has been a powerful kick off into an astounding March! We did go on exchanges with the Elders in the Enoch West area. I was with Elder Eddie, and it was really good to connect again. I enjoyed our time together, including a powerful miracle! They've been working with one of their friends, but he couldn't be baptized a couple weeks ago because the mom ended up having a baby around that time. So they were patient and worked to reschedule his baptism. However, we visit him on Thursday last week hoping to set a day that will work for their family. As we start talking, this kid asks us if he can be baptized tomorrow! We knew Friday wouldn't work, but he wasn't having it. He made a strong push for Saturday, and his grandmother checked their schedule and said it would work! Then Elder Eddie starts texting people and I do a quick baptismal interview for him. Good Morning!  This has been an amazing week! We didn't find any new friends, but the Spirit has been in the work and I'm excited to watch it flourish.  There's this young woman we are teaching, her name is Lily. I've always wanted to help someone named Lily be baptized, and now my opportunity is finally here! We tried to set her on plan three separate times but it's just not working out. However, she wants to be baptized! We just need to help her dad be prepared to do it. Fun fact, my other name goals have been Serenity, and literally anyone with the last name of Williams. My friend Serenity was baptized nine months ago, but I'm still waiting on a Williams . . . The biggest inhibitor for our friends' spiritual progress has been whatever sickness is going around. I think half our teaching pool is sick right now, and missed our last appointments because of it. Most of them are sincere though, so there's that at least! They're all reading the Book of M

The Ghost Town

Good Morning! This week we have been very busy. We organized 60% of our member dots by positioning them over their proper addresses. I've participated in three separate meetings, prepared for District Council (which went fantastic!), and done lots of driving. Also, we found twelve new friends to start teaching, we've found a couple solid leads for apartments in our area, wrote talks for sacrament meeting, drafted an email on our friends to the Stake, and got lost in Cedar City for just a little bit. We also may or may not have witnessed a portion of the Super Bowl as we visited people and I got to discuss missionary life with a recently returned missionary.  All in all, it has been a fantastic week! I'm super exhausted, but I'll get over that part. Of note, we entered the week knowing we needed to find lots of new friends as we start working in the area. We were blessed exceedingly by the Lord to find all 12 of them! We should help some of our friends prepare for baptis

Lemons

Good Morning! I am grateful today is Monday. This has been an exciting week, but one where I really just needed a reset. Everything has gone well regarding life, but we've had some interesting circumstances with opening a new missionary area. But, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! Or really, despite difficult circumstances, look for the tender mercies! First, our Preach My Gospel App (really our app that holds our calendar and the important records we need to properly function) didn't work, and wouldn't sync us in. So I spent three days synced into the Spanish Elders side of things (where they had the records we needed) and we did a somewhat effective but not really level of daily planning in our keep notes. We survived, our systems are back, and I'm grateful for the experience.  We also got a new SIM card! Except, it wasn't until today that we found out it doesn't work in my phone. That makes zero sense to me because it's supposed to be an unlocked
