Sanctify the Troubled Soul

Good Morning! Elder Gibson has many talents I do not. He is amazing with children, a practicing chef, and can do a backflip. He was a gymnast for a number of years, and impresses children all the time! Together in this past week, we've done a few remarkable things. We had a baptism for someone the previous Elders had taught, we successfully contacted and met with all the people currently being taught, we've met almost every single Bishop, plus the Stake President, and we casually found four new people to teach on Sunday. There's something about Sunday where people are just more receptive, available, or something. It's amazing, I love Sundays so much!  Living in a basement apartment is cool, though a bit small. It's really not that bad, we just wish we had a stove/oven. But we make do! There are a few neighborhood friends I've seen; there's this cat that sprawls on the wall waiting for us to pet it. There's a robin who enjoys our backyard. I've also m

Good Morning! It has been a transfer! Time has flown, and for that I'm very grateful. I am being moved to a new area, La Verkin! It's near Hurricane, and will include a couple smaller towns like Toquerville and Pintura. Funnily enough I'd spent a day on exchanges serving in that exact area . . . I found that to be pretty cool, and I'm excited for this next transfer! My new companion will be Elder Gibson, and though I know nothing about him, I'm excited to spend these upcoming weeks with him. It'll be awesome!  This last week with Elder Bailey was very productive! We found a few new friends, all young adults between 18-30, who are a part of an independence program. Many of their hearts are softened to our message, and one of them even came to church yesterday! We are also prepping a few more individuals for baptism, some are progressing well, and others we are working to better understand their needs.  I normally don't have this problem, but there was a day t

Begin With the End in Mind

Good Morning! Our referrals are actually working out! We have a lot to work with, but this last week that work began to pay off. We picked up 5 new friends, all from members in the area who had previous knowledge of the individuals. They are doing well, we have high hopes for them! We also had a baptism on Saturday, Jason has been through a number of missionaries, but Elder Bailey and I turned the family around and Jason was finally ready for baptism! His father's heart was softened, which is a wonderful miracle as he's been a struggle to work with in the past. We'll also be teaching his younger sister this week, so we're going to keep the family's momentum moving forward! Transfers are around the corner, it'll be a relief to actually survive a transfer out here! I'm ready for the experience, and have my suspicions, but I know I'll work with whatever happens. But I'd be astonished if I left Washington, so I'm ready for the next 6 weeks! The Washi

Fresh Courage Take

Good Morning! There have been some amazing experiences this past week in St. George! We taught the Restoration message in two member lessons, and the Spirit was so profound! We placed another friend on date for baptism, and established positive contact and taught another friend who had been MIA for two weeks! It was quite impressive, not to mention I've been thrown in with Elder Fiame, some four or five times this week as the assistants do their official business. It has been a high learning curve to work with, but a very rewarding one as we succeed! Elder Bailey and I have not gotten along 100%, but most of the issues have been communication. I say issues, really I just act normally. I say something, but it comes out funny, and so he interprets it differently than I intend. I can't blame him for it, and we've talked about this. But it does push me to consider what I say and how I say it.  The impressions we leave on people make a difference, and as a disciple of Jesus Chri
