Pioneer Children

Good Morning! I feel like nothing has changed this past week. We've seen success and found new friends. We've taught quite a few lessons, and visited a number of members. We're still trying to save miles. We only hit one parked car while drifting in the snow.  Oh yeah, it snowed! On Saturday we decided to become like the pioneer children, and walk around everywhere, just without the singing. We drove for a bit, so it wasn't 100% walking, but we were on our feet for probably 6 or 7 hours. There was one lesson and a dinner appointment during that time, and a lot of cold weather. Everyone kept telling us to go inside and get warm, it's probably a good thing they care about us enough to tell us to go inside. But also, we can't find people if we sit inside all day so we're doing what we can. I for one am considering actually using my beanie . . . On Saturday, everybody told us that it was supposed to snow like 6 inches overnight. So we woke up on Sunday and found...

My Personal Coop of Crippled Roosters

Good Morning! Sunday is indeed a very good day spiritually. I learned a lot from the different workshops and meetings we had, as well as had the opportunity to sing in the choir. The real performance was Tuesday, but the choir director himself tells some amazing stories. Seriously, they're awesome. I'd put them here, but I could never do them justice. However, the overall lesson learned is that the gospel is remarkably simple in nature. God isn't here to over-complicate our lives. He's here to help us through it step by step.  As many of you know, we are in allergy season across the nation. I did bring allergy pills with me, but they're located inside a drawer I actually have to open . . . so after missing maybe two days I was stuffy and congested and have been for most of this week. I finally relented and purchased Mucinex from the MTC store, so that has been in effect since about Wednesday. Looks like I won't have another attack of bronchitis! And a side bonus...

Scatter Sunshine

Good Morning!  This has been an amazing week! We didn't find any new friends, but the Spirit has been in the work and I'm excited to watch it flourish.  There's this young woman we are teaching, her name is Lily. I've always wanted to help someone named Lily be baptized, and now my opportunity is finally here! We tried to set her on plan three separate times but it's just not working out. However, she wants to be baptized! We just need to help her dad be prepared to do it. Fun fact, my other name goals have been Serenity, and literally anyone with the last name of Williams. My friend Serenity was baptized nine months ago, but I'm still waiting on a Williams . . . The biggest inhibitor for our friends' spiritual progress has been whatever sickness is going around. I think half our teaching pool is sick right now, and missed our last appointments because of it. Most of them are sincere though, so there's that at least! They're all reading the Book of M...
