Lemons

Good Morning!

I am grateful today is Monday. This has been an exciting week, but one where I really just needed a reset. Everything has gone well regarding life, but we've had some interesting circumstances with opening a new missionary area. But, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! Or really, despite difficult circumstances, look for the tender mercies!

First, our Preach My Gospel App (really our app that holds our calendar and the important records we need to properly function) didn't work, and wouldn't sync us in. So I spent three days synced into the Spanish Elders side of things (where they had the records we needed) and we did a somewhat effective but not really level of daily planning in our keep notes. We survived, our systems are back, and I'm grateful for the experience.

We also got a new SIM card! Except, it wasn't until today that we found out it doesn't work in my phone. That makes zero sense to me because it's supposed to be an unlocked phone, and I've had AT&T SIMs before, and done just fine. I'm just grateful we figured out the problem. So I guess I'm driving for the next month or so!

We are blessed with wonderful Stake and Ward leaders who are very willing and able. The Minersville Stake has been a bit abandoned with regards to missionary work recently. The previous missionaries have been so busy for so long in Beaver that they never really came out to Minersville. It feels like we are starting from scratch, but we did have one friend in our teaching pool! We've since found four more. We are growing bit by bit.

I'm excited to be with Elder Dale. He's got a really good heart and I'm eager to see what I can learn from him. We've already come this far together, what's another five weeks? I think the time will pass quickly.

It's good to be back in an old area of mine, in February again. However, it's great to be doing new things and I'm grateful for the renewed perspective I have of Minersville now. I've already visited Anna Haddenham and Rossten LeBaron, two of my friends who chose to be baptized out here! I'm grateful they're still doing well. Also, I got to visit Cedar City for preparation day today! It was a good time to catch up with some of my friends at SUU again. I love all the connections I have in Southern Utah, and I'm truly grateful I was called to serve in the Utah, St. George Mission. I still don't know many of the reasons I'm here, but I know a lot more than when I started. I am thankful for all the tender mercies I've experienced.

Alma 26:12
Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
