A Brief Introduction

Good Morning!

This is my first email to the masses, so welcome aboard. This should be a fun journey.

For those who aren't aware, I have been called to the Utah, St. George Mission as a proselytizing missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My service will last for the next two years, ending November 2023. My mission area will encompass the immediate area around the city of St. George (In the SW corner of Utah), down to the Northern border of the Grand Canyon, and up to the cities of Manti and Ephraim. Essentially, I cover most of Southwestern Utah, and a bit of Central, just south of Provo.

I will be set apart in about two hours as a missionary. Then I start my training at home from Monday, November 1st through Monday, November 8th. On the Ninth I fly to the Provo MTC (Missionary Training Center), and somewhere around the 23rd of November I should be in my assigned area, working hard with my companion at that time. Or enjoying Thanksgiving, I think that falls around then.

A couple things to note. I will do my best to send an email every week, usually this will fall on a Monday. Feel free to respond to this email (or email separately if you wish) if you want to talk to me, have questions, whatever it may be. I'll do my best to answer them and to respond to you, however, please note; The only time I imagine I'll be free to respond to emails will be on our Preparation Day. This is our break during the week, usually on a Monday, that gives me a chance to do laundry, some shopping, iron my clothes, and write home. Basically, prepare for the next week. This is also why these mass emails are sent on Monday. You can of course send an email later in the week, just expect that I can't respond until I have free time.

This will be a fun experience for me, and I'm honestly starting to feel excited. The homesick loneliness hasn't hit yet, probably because I'm still home. It will eventually, though, so I'm preparing for that. Yes, I'm a little nervous, and I never feel like I know everything, but the best part is the more I learn and the farther into this I go, the more accustomed to everything I will be. My biggest goal in all of this is to learn more about myself, those around me, and most importantly, my relationship with God. Even though most of you aren't out on an official church mission for your own beliefs, you can always be on a mission for yourselves, to learn more about some aspect of your own life.

Have a happy Halloween, and a comfortable rest of your Sabbath!
