Happy and Snowy

Good Morning!

This has been a fantastic week! I never thought I'd have so much fun in the snow, I've been kicking it and jumping in snow drifts all week! Okay, maybe not literally, but it's a welcome change of pace. It's been a fantastic week with regards to missionary work though! My new companion is Elder Jorgensen, he's been out a while and has been teaching me a few things! We've had a lot of fun together, and are teaching almost twenty people, so I'd say the work is very healthy over here.

On the transfer van up, somehow I was dropped off, and there ended up not being a place for me to stay. Luckily Elder Gibson was homeless and single, just like me! So we hung out for a few hours and did some work in the Cedar North Stake. I enjoyed being with Elder Gibson again, we really hit it off, and talked about our time together in La Verkin a little. He's a really good missionary, I'm grateful to have spent some time with him. Oh, and there were chickens. See below for evidence.

Being in Beaver, I'm now in the Richfield Zone! That's the same Zone Salina is in, so I will definitely be dropping by to visit, although maybe a little farther into the month of February. However, it meant I was able to see Elder Dearing (my new missionary, he's doing very well), and many other wonderful missionaries I've come to love.

Elder Jorgensen is a very funny man. I wasn't sure how well our humor would click, but I have been pleasantly impressed. We work together well, agree on what and how to teach, and our humor works together great. It's almost a problem, there have been a few times where Elder Jorgensen or I will be in a lesson, or on a phone call, we'll remember some inside joke, and then fight to not burst out laughing. It's the best!

One thing we've started doing is take photos with our member friends who come to lessons with us! It's to help motivate us to have a member at every lesson. The USGM mission goal is for us to have 10 member lessons in a week, and 10 non-member lessons in a week. Then, we are doing everything we can to have a member participating with us in each of those 10 non-member lessons. Rumor has it some missionaries doubt it's possible. But guess what!

Elder Jorgensen and I had 10 member lessons, 10 non-member lessons, and then, a member at every single one of those non-member lessons. I know, lot's of "member" and "non-member". It's not hard to get more than 10 lessons on either end, the real difficulty has been having members participate. And we got 100%. So I'm happy.

Ultimately, Beaver is a blast. There are a few fun, homemade food places out here. Some are pretty good, but I'm still exploring. I've figured out what ice does to a car at any speed. Dirty snow sticks to cars better than just about anything. And narrow, country dirt roads are not the place to get stuck when it's 19 degrees outside. Hasn't happened yet, I'll keep praying to avoid that situation. But it's Beaver, and I'm loving it!

Oh, and one more thing.

Taigelee.
