"Father, I"

Good Morning!

This week has been a success. We had two friends at church and three new friends to start teaching. Nothing huge, but it's progression and consistency that's key. That is what we're accomplishing here in Ephraim.

To be honest, this past week was one of the hardest weeks of my mission. It's been one of the most painstaking, agonizing, and discouraging weeks. My spirit has been stretched and my body worn down. I often didn't know the next turn to take or choice to make. Despite this, it has been a blast to serve the Lord!

On paper we had three exchanges and Zone Conference. This alone causes a week to fly by! I'm just glad it's over, but I did learn from my experiences here. I've been humbled (something I often need) and led closer to my Savior. I'm still learning to trust in Him, but it is working bit by bit.

Our Zone Conference was focused on Revelation! I then learned that I need to strive to receive more revelation. I gave a talk in church on Sunday inviting all those present to work to receive revelation in their lives. I promised blessings and everything! Now to follow my own invitation.

Zone Conference was also a good opportunity to talk to many missionaries headed home soon. One was a previous companion of mine, it's strange how life moves on. I tell everyone I'm at 15 months now. I try not to think about how fast the time is moving!

In an attempt to receive more personal revelation, I often pray at night with a journal close by, to record promptings. One particular night I was in need of a little more than a few jotted notes. I recorded a conversation between myself and God. It was kind of a question / answer session. These questions were personal in nature, but led to needed answers and a strong presence of peace. Despite trying to do everything myself, God taught me once again to rely on my Savior.

Here are just three questions that may be applicable to your life as they were to mine:

- Father, I will always fall short.
Child, the plan never was to succeed on your own.

- Father, I don't have many more excuses.
Good. You know the right way to walk. Now feed my sheep as I have commanded you.

- Father, I strive to as often as I can. Is it enough?
Nothing is too little for the Savior. Your efforts won't be perfect, but He is. Trust in Him and My Spirit.

I know God loves His children, of which includes you and I. I know He will continue to enable every one of you, time and time again, to accomplish miracles. This is a veritable fact, witnessed by the peace that comes from the companionship of the Holy Ghost.

Notice how the above questions start with "Father, I." In the answers portion to my questions, I was directed to "feed His sheep." Instead of focusing inward and worrying about what you're doing or not doing, an important principle demonstrated here is to turn outwards. Every time you turn outwards and focus on the needs of your family, friends, and neighbors, the more complete your own life becomes.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is true. He changes lives. He continues to change me. Let Him change you.
