High Tides Raise All Ships

Good Morning!

This has been an eventful week! In fact, it was so eventful that almost nothing happened in our own area, but instead in everyone else's!

I did like 3 more exchanges, because they're fun. Wednesday was spent with Elder Goodlad, Thursday with Elder Fiame in my area, and same for Elder Rodriguez on Friday. With Elder Goodlad we found two new friends! That was a relief, and actually the only two new friends I found this week!

The two exchanges in Ephraim went very well, except we just made visits and nothing seemed to work. I am striving to "lead by example" and assist my District in the work, but we couldn't find anyone new to teach. We did have some successful lessons! As a result two of our friends attended church.

Now we did set a plan for baptism with Boman. He's super excited for it, and wants to be baptized as soon as possible. We had to help him see that there's more to learn, even though it would be cool to do the baptism tomorrow. I'd like to help a friend make the covenant of baptism this transfer if at all possible.

The biggest shift I've noticed has been in the District. We broke many of our goals this week, and overall performed very well. None of it happened with me though, so we'll see how this week goes!

We did get a lead for a YSA lady who we could start teaching. Then about 5 hours later we realized the Sister Missionaries in Manti began teaching her. That was very sad. Plot twist though! She's in our area so we still get to teach her! The boundaries for the college wards are legitimately confusing, they make zero sense. But that means we get to teach this friend. So that's a win!

Bottom line, I could be discouraged with the way this week went for the Ephraim area. But when I contrast that with the overall momentum that has grown in the Ephraim District these past 5 weeks, I'm proud of these missionaries. They're hard workers, and we've seen many miracles that further the spreading of the gospel.

Elder Rasmussen shared a quote with me: High tides raise all ships. Though my area wasn't the highest producer this week, what ultimately matters is that the work thrives. I look forward to the growth of the District as we progress forward. These missionaries I love, and their areas, are all an extension of my own.

My companion and I found a recent convert who owns a 2006 FORD GT, painted yellow. One of 73 cars like it of 2,000. I actually really love that car. I don't have a dream car, but if I did this would probably be it. Maybe even the yellow version, who knows! All I know is my Dad and Sandra will be super jealous. I think.

We're on to the last week of the transfer. I need to stop blinking because then the transfers vanish. The 4th of July is coming up, I don't even think Ephraim does anything regarding fireworks. Very sad. Oh, and I ran into buffalo! But they were stuck in a half-acre enclosure. Nobody puts their buffalo on grass I guess, I don't know.
