Long Lost Friends
Good Morning!
Our friend, Kaylen, accepted a baptismal date for the 30th of December! I love her sincere desire to learn, and her strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. That was a strong highlight to our week. However, another one of our friends is a little uncertain of her baptism this weekend. She desires to be baptized, but there are some icebergs she's facing that we'll have to work through.
There's just a tiny glimpse of my week, it's honestly been really great! I did go on a couple exchanges with the Elders in the Kanab Stake. Elder Allan is doing a fantastic job as a new missionary! I'm grateful for his diligence and willingness. Elder Dobson is also doing well, I'm grateful for his growth as a missionary from the last time I served around him, almost a year ago!
It has been an adventure working here in Kanab. So many of the people have been visited that it feels like there's nothing to do, but at the same time we keep running into those who are ready for the gospel. We were blessed with three new friends to teach this week. All three have connections with another family member who's meeting with us, so it's a smooth transition to step them into the same lessons we are already doing!
We did have our Zone Conference this week, but it was a bit different. Elder Hugo E. Martinez came and presided, and gave us a lot of valuable instruction. It was a treat to learn from him and his wife. Then, this weekend I attended the Kanab Utah Kaibab Stake Conference, where Elder Martinez again presided! It was an honor to 'sit at his feet' and learn from his example. There's a lot that was said in mere action that I'm striving to apply to my own life.
Fun fact, at this Stake Conference I also saw Elder Carnavale! He was the Washington Stake President when I was with Elder Bailey, but is now an Area Authority. I remember him the most out of all the Stake Presidents I've served around, so it was great to reunite with him even for a minute or two.
Also, Elder Hironymous has his consulate meeting this Tuesday, so he should have a visa soon! That means I can ship him off to Mexico. He's been really excited to leave so I'm grateful for the time he gets to go, but I will miss being his companion. This does mean that I will be hiding in St. George for most of Tuesday. In fact, I'll be going to an old area of mine and getting to see all my friends again! It is actually hilarious how many times I get sent to this area . . .
Until next week! Transfers will drop (this is a 5 week transfer because of Christmas and flight expenses) next week so expect to hear from me on Tuesday the 12th. Maybe I'll actually stay again?
